Grenoble 1968
The Grenoble torch, crafted in a limited quantity of only 33 units, is composed of copper and features a combustion chamber with a crenelated apex. Its handle is partly enveloped in fabric. To ensure my safety during transportation from Greece to France, a miner's lamp was employed instead of torches. During my journey, I traversed the Alps and Pyrenees, and even made a brief stop in Corsica. At the time of igniting the cauldron, which was a vast brazier situated atop a towering staircase, the final torchbearer had a microphone affixed to his chest, which enabled the audience to hear the rapid beating of his heart as he struggled under strain.
